Catechetical Sunday: 09/15/2024
One Sunday in September, all parents and children are invited to celebrate the beginning of our new school year at the 10:30 a.m. Family Mass. During the Mass, our Catechists are commissioned to teach our children about their faith and, immediately following Mass, everyone is invited to a reception to meet the teachers.
Family Mass: Sundays, late September to the end of May, at 10:00 am
Mass is designated as a Family Mass for all families. At these Masses, children are invited to come sit in the sanctuary and listen to a homily that is geared to young children.
Junior Lector Liturgy: Dates listed on our Calendar
Once a month during our Religious Education Calendar year we designate one of our Family Masses to be a Junior Lector Liturgy. At these Masses our students become active participants in the Mass as readers.May Crowning: 05/04/2025 at St. James the Apostle 10 AM Mass
During the month of May, students and parishioners participate in this special ceremony by offering flowers and placing a crown on the statue of Mary, symbolizing her as the Queen of Heaven and Mother of the Church.
Reconciliation: Twice/year - see Religious Ed Calendar for dates
Twice during the school year, students in grades 3 through 8 have the opportunity to attend Reconciliation (usually before Christmas and before Easter). All students are encouraged to take advantage of these opportunities to receive the grace this Sacrament gives.
